Apple MagSafe 3 charging cable receives a new firmware update, which is now on its way to MacBook Air and MacBook Pro users.

The MagSafe 3 charging connector supports newer Macs, allowing user to charge their laptops without a sweat.
As per a report by Apple Insider, the charger supports the all-new 2022 MacBook Air, which rocks an M2 chip. Besides that, it also powers 2021 releases, including the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the 14-inch MacBook Pro.
And now, the Cupertino-based tech giant started dishing out a new firmware update for the USB-C to MagSafe 3 charging cable.
Apple Insider notes that the iPhone maker provides its wide range of products, from AirPods to MagSafe chargers, new software updates from time to time. Even the popular tracking device, the AirTag, occasionally receives new firmware releases.
In fact, the renowned tech firm recently released the first-ever firmware update for its MagSafe Duo charger.
These new software releases typically fix some bugs and security issues. And in most cases, these updates offer performance enhancements.
With new products entering the picture, some firmware updates expand support to these next-generation offerings.
It turns out that even the MagSafe 3 charging connector is getting its own firmware update too.
A Twitter user, who goes by the username @aaronp613 spotted the new update for the MagSafe 3 cable.
MagSafe 3 Charging Cable
Apple introduced the MagSafe 3 charging cable in 2021 as it debuts the new MacBook Pro models in the same year. And in 2022, the new M2 MacBook Air continued using it.
The two-meter connector features a magnetic connection, which should resist unintended disconnections when moving. However, when an accident happens wherein someone trips on the cable, it should easily release your MacBook, preventing it from falling to the floor.
It is available in various colors, such as the popular Space Gray or the sleek-looking Midnight option. Buyers could also get their hands on it in Starlight and the classic Silver hue.
How to Install MagSafe 3 Update on MacBooks
It is worth mentioning that there is no way to manually update your MagSafe 3 cable. Instead, it should automatically download and install while it is connected to your MacBook.
By doing so, the new Apple MagSafe 3 firmware update should be available.
