Hyundai Evolve+ EV Subscription Program

As per a report by Inside EVs, Hyundai Motor America finally brought its Evolve+ subscription service to the US, which starts for less than $700 a month.

The giant South Korean car maker introduced its new monthly subscription service during the Chicago Auto Show in the US.

The automaker seeks to give its customers in the country a more affordable option to get their hands on an EV. Not to mention that the monthly service further gives them flexibility without diving into any longer-term lease or buying the vehicle.

However, Hyundai notes that the subscription service is only available to drivers who are at least 25 years old. On top of that, they should have a clean driving record. So if you recently got a ticket for reckless driving, you might be ineligible for this.

Besides these requirements, the automaker is only offering the service to folks with at least three years of recent driving history, as well as a 650 or higher credit score.

How Does Hyundai Evolve+ Work

The vice president for product planning and mobility strategy of Hyundai Motor North America, Olabisi Boyle, explained how the new EV subscription service works.

The Hyundai executive notes that "Evolve+ is an optimal solution for the 'EV-curious' car shopper." It requires "no paperwork, no commitment, and no long-term loan."

Boyle goes on to say that the new subscription service prioritized "simplicity and flexibility."

Besides that in mind, the new service also seeks to further speed up the growing adoption of car owners to all-electric cars.

Car and Driver reports that the subscription already covers all sorts of car-owning expenses, such as insurance and registration. It also takes care of the maintenance costs and roadside assistance in times of emergency.

The monthly subscription lets users go up to 1,000 miles. Anything over that comes with an additional $20 fee per 100 miles up to 1,500 miles. After going over that mark, per mile already costs $1.

If you barely go over 1,000 miles per month, you do not have to worry about this.

On top of that, the service offers two Hyundai vehicles, the Ioniq 5 and the Kona Electric.

How Much is the Subscription Fee

The Evolve EV service starts at only $699 a month, which includes the Kona Electric. However, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 costs much more to the tune of $899 monthly.
