WhatsApp is launching one of the most requested features from users on the platform.
According to Meta, the company behind the messaging app, users could soon be able to use the new status updates with an emoji.
WhatsApp to Bringing Status Reactions to Users
According to a report by 9to5Mac, WhatsApp is rolling out Status Reactions so people can have more means to reply to their friends' statuses.
Meta says that fans have been longing to see this feature since last year. Now, you can just simply swipe up and start clicking your desired emojis out of eight available choices.
"You can of course still reply to a status with text, voice message, stickers, and more," Meta adds.
4 Extra WhatsApp Features You Have Got to See
Aside from the Status Reactions, Meta is set to release four extra status features that fans will test out anytime soon.
In the same report by 9to5Mac, these updates have been simultaneously released along with the previously mentioned feature.
To know more about them, check this out.
Link Preview on Status: Before you post a status on WhatsApp, you can now have a visual preview of it. It's an important update for those who want to paste a link on their feed. This feature gives you a quick look at how your status will look before posting.
Voice Status: Another significant Whatsapp feature that is coming soon is Voice Status which allows users to share their audio messages for up to 30 seconds on the status. If you're more comfortable speaking your sentiments to your friend, then this feature will be the right fit for you.
Private Audience Selector: You are sharing your status because you want your friends to see how you feel on that particular day. However, not all of the people from your contacts might not like your status, that's why you need to squeeze some privacy key from your pocket. Updating your privacy setting can help you select your preferred audience who can see your updated status on WhatsApp.
Status Profile Rings for New Updates: Getting updated every time your family or your best friend posts status is now possible with this feature. There will be a ring that will pop out when someone shares an update with you. It's all over the contact information, chat lists, and even on your group lists.
These features are expected to be available in the coming weeks, according to meta.
Meanwhile, Fox News previously reported that WhatsApp will end support to select smartphone models because of the new update. Some of the affected devices include Lenovo A820, LG Optimus F7, Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, Wiko Darknight ZT, and more.
