Google Maps now supports Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4.
This is a huge deal for users since the two smartwatches were not able to take advantage of the application when they were launched.
The advanced Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 were both launched last September 2022.
Although users can install Google Maps, the app is useless since it doesn't work.
This means that all its features are not accessible via the two smartwatches. But this scenario finally changed.
Google Maps Now Supports Fitbit Sense 2, Versa 4
According to Android Police's latest report, users can already install Google Maps on their Sense 2 and Versa 4.
Those who installed the app before no longer need to do anything since Google Maps will automatically appear on their wearables.
There are lots of things you can do with Google Maps using the Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4, such as the following:
- The Current Trips will appear from your smartphone if your smartwatch's navigation is active.
- Auto-start for driving, cycling, and walking will launch Google Maps, showing the turn-by-turn list even when always-on-display is turned on.
- You can re-access the app's main screen by clicking the "pause navigation on watch" option. An exit button is also provided if you want to end the navigation.
You can do these things with Google Maps on Sense 2 and Versa 4. You can click here to see more.
Recent Google Maps Enhancements
Aside from supporting Sense 2 and Versa 4, GSM Arena reported that a recent enhancement allows Google Maps to work without a smartphone being connected to a smartwatch.
However, an internet connection is still required since the new feature isn't an offline navigation.
This enhancement works on smartwatches with LTE and those that don't have LTE support.
