This time, they are now using AI-powered bots to defeat professional gamers.

Many pro players shared their experiences after encountering cheaters who use advanced bots.

One of them is Reed "Chicago" Wilen. He said that playing against the bot is very confusing.

This is because the AI that cheaters use doesn't do aerial tricks or other in-game acrobats. Instead, they perfectly dribble the ball with impossible accuracy.

'Rocket League' Pro Players Face-Hacked AI-Powered Bot!

According to The Wired's latest report, the AI-powered bot that cheaters are using is called Nexto.

In 2020, Psyonix, the Epic Games-owned company behind "Rocket League," started allowing developers to create bots that players could practice against.

However, many unfair gamers decided to take advantage of Nexto and other bots. They were able to hack the AI and use it to play in a human's place.

Although many professional players are still more skilled than the bots, other gamers said these AIs could allow less skilled players to cheat their way to higher ranks.

How Will Epic Games Solve This Issue?

As of press time, Epic Games hasn't shared its exact plan to prevent cheaters from using Nexto and other AI-powered bots.

But, the game publisher said that it is working on new methods to detect and block bots.

Developers are also reconsidering if they would release more advanced bots for practice. If the cheating worsens, there's a chance that they will not launch their next-gen practice bots.

Aside from Epic Games and AI developers, players also have their own roles to play to prevent cheaters from messing up "Rocket League."

If they want to reach higher ranks, the best and most ethical way to do it is to practice.
