This is why experts urge consumers to check their broadband plans before the costs increase.

If you are wondering why internet service will get expensive, this is because millions of households are estimated to be out of contract this 2023.

Once a contract ends, ISPs will likely put their customers on a standard tariff, which could add more than $12 (£10) per month.

During his "Martin Lewis Money Show," he shared that the cost hikes could be around 15% in-line with the CPI (consumer price index) rate of inflation.

This means that the higher your bill is, the more expensive it will get once the price increases are implemented.

If you are in the United Kingdom, it is important to know what you can do to save as much money as possible before and once the price hikes arrive.

What Can Broadband Users Do

Express UK reported that one of the best things consumers can do is to move to new ISPs.

Although haggling the price with your broadband provider is also a great way to reduce the price, being a new customer will still give you better cost options.

As of writing, various ISPs are offering great deals for new consumers. These include the following:

  • Sky (Has launched a winter sale with broadband prices starting as low as $28)
  • Vodafone (Offers its Full Fibre 2 plan for just $27)
  • BT (Offers almost all its broadband and TV services for half their original prices)
  • Three (Slashed its broadband service's price by 50%)

Aside from moving to other new ISPs, there are also other things you can do to save money. If you want to learn more details, you can click this link.

While ISPs in the United Kingdom are expected to increase their prices, some broadband providers in the U.S. and other parts of the globe are doing the opposite.

Recently, Verizon started offering one year Netflix subscription for free to users who plan to get another +play subscription.

We also reported that Google Fi allowed its users to get a free YouTube Premium subscription.
