YouTube Shorts Monetization Module

Last September, YouTube announced that it will be adopting vertical ads from landscape video for it to apply on Shorts, as the company introduced new eligibility criteria, new ways to earn, and opening access to Creator Music.

In its latest announcement regarding this matter, YouTube finally released a date. Shorts will begin sharing ad revenue with creators on February 1st.

Creators will have the freedom to choose if they do not want to opt-in shorts monetization. But everyone in the program will have to sign the base agreement that will have several terms on what creators can post and how the payment works.

YouTube Shorts Monetization Module will allow creators to earn money from advertisements that are viewed between videos in the Shorts Feed. The company also promises that the majority of its Shorts Fund recipients will earn more with this new agreement.

TechCrunch reported that creators who wish to apply to the program have to reach the Shorts threshold of 1,000 subscribers and 10 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.

As a preparation for this change, the company rolls out new terms in the YouTube Partner Program that will require users to accept and sign by July 10 this year to retain their monetization. Aside from the Shorts Monetization Module, YouTube announced more agreements.

Shorts creators can try online free video reverser software to make their videos unique and increase user views.

Other Updated Terms on YouTube Partner Program

The Verge reported that this will include 'Modules' that will offer creators more flexibility in how they earn money from YouTube. The 'Base Terms' are also required to sign that will include content policies and the other three sections. These are the foundational contract terms for all creators.

The 'Watch Page Monetization Module' represents pages within the platforms of the company, like YouTube, Youtube Music, and YouTube Kids that will be dedicated to the description and playback of creators' long-form or live streaming videos.

Meanwhile, the 'Commerce Product Addendum' will be unlocking several Fan Funding features that users earn while having communication and connection with their supporters through channel memberships. This includes Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks.

Creators will be removed from the program with all monetization stopped, and requalification is required to join the program again if they did not sign on the given date. YouTube reminded creators that while their channel is removed from the program, the terms of service still apply and govern their channels.

Previous members will still be seeing ads being served on their content but they will not be entitled to any payment.
