The "League of Legends" Preseason 2023 officially began on November 16, 2022.
The recent "LoL" Patch 12.22 and 12.23 rolled out some exciting in-game updates in the Summoner's Rift.
Among them are the new tank items, which Riot Games expect to enhance the gameplay of front-liner characters.
'League of Legends' New Tank Items
Riot Games' official website lists all the new tank items that "League of Legends" fans can try.
Some of them are considered to be "mythic" items, such as the following:
- Rod of Ages (This item grants all other Legendary items 5 Ability Haste)
- Heartsteel (This item offers 1% increased health and 6% champion size to all Legendary items)
- Iceborn Gauntlet (Offers 5% Tenacity, 5% Slow Resist, and 50 health to all Legendary items)
- Radiant Virtue (This item offers 100 health to all Legendary items)
- Jak'Sho, The Protean (This new tank item provides 5 Armor and Magic Resist to all other Legendary items)
'LoL' 2023 Itemization Issue
All the in-game advantages offered by the mythic tank items above can greatly encourage more players to use tank champions.
If this is the case, why are some gaming experts claiming an itemization issue in the Summoner's Rift this 2023?
According to CBR's latest report, various issues are playing around with these mythic tank weapons. For example, the new Jak'Sho the Protean item is over-centralized.
This is because the item can ramp up mid-combat effects while enhancing the armor and magic resistances of champions using it.
Because of this, other gamers tend to use the new item for assassins and fighters as well. This will allow Zed, Yasuo, and other assassin/bruiser heroes to be more OP.
If Riot Games doesn't adjust these new mythic tank items, there's a high chance that gamers will use them for almost all types of characters instead of just front-liners.
