A new Twitter outage is affecting thousands of users in Australia and New Zealand.
The issues began on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Many users already shared their disappointment on the online platform.
One of them said that the website is "dying such as slow and painful death."
Another one said that Elon Musk seems like he doesn't know that there are other countries using Twitter aside from the U.S.
Twitter Outage in Australia and New Zealand
According to Tech Crunch's latest report, the Twitter outage in Australia and New Zealand affects users for over 12 hours as of press time.
Based on the data of DownDetector, Australia is the most affected country, with more than 1,300 users experiencing issues.
The outage in New Zealand only affects over 240 users.
Affected users experience various platform issues, such as app and website bugs, as well as issues in uploading tweets.
Some of them shared that they were able to access the social media platform using VPN apps.
What Twitter Users Can Do
Since Twitter hasn't confirmed if it is already working on a fix to solve the outage in Australia and New Zealand, the best thing you can do is try troubleshooting methods.
Twitter's official website provided some tips on how to fix issues. However, you must remember that these methods are not 100% efficient.
These include the following:
- Try turning off your VPN if you are using one.
- Try using incognito or other private browsers.
- If your app or browser is not updated, visit the official Google Play Store or Apple App Store to update it.
- Clearing the cache and cookies of your app or browser could also help.
- Of course, logging in and logging out could also fix the issues. However, this method is commonly a temporary fix.
As of writing, Twitter is still facing various problems.
These include the cost-cutting efforts made by Elon Musk, which clearly affect many Twitter employees.
We also reported that an alleged Twitter user data breach could have compromised over 400 million users.
