NVIDIA, Foxconn Join Hands to Create an Autonomous Drive Platform for EVs

A new self-driving tech is on the way.

NVIDIA and Foxconn unveiled their latest venture towards creating a new autonomous driving technology for the world, and it will center on its partners to provide a new platform for vehicles. The companies announced this venture amidst NVIDIA's CES 2023 announcements, alongside its new batch of products including new GPUs, and experiences with the company's tech.

The Taiwanese and American companies aim to deliver an intelligent solution for modern electric vehicles that were manufactured under Foxconn's plants.

The Hon Hai Technology Group, also known as Foxconn, has formed a strategic partnership with NVIDIA, the companies announced today, with its goals to create new autonomous driving platforms for the world.

Foxconn will be in charge of the EV manufacturing part of this venture, while NVIDIA would center on creating the ECUs that would provide the self-driving technology.

In this partnership, Foxconn will use ECUs based on the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin platform set for its clients in the global automotive industry. Additionally, future production vehicles from Foxconn are set to receive the bundle of the DRIVE Orin ECUs and DRIVE Hyperion sensors to complete the autonomous driving venture of these companies.

EVs with NVIDIA and Foxconn's Self-Driving Tech

As more automotive companies choose NVIDIA's self-driving technology, this partnership with Foxconn would ensure that EVs become equipped with Santa Clara-based features for efficiency and safety. This partnership would also center on electric vehicles that would border on sustainability and clean energy for the future.

NVIDIA and Foxconn's Ventures

NVIDIA has had a known self-driving solo venture since 2022, and it is the DRIVE platform that it introduced to the world to join automotive brands' future releases like BYD and Lucid. There is a growing list that is slated to receive this autonomous driving tech from the famous computer parts maker, to deliver a different experience with their journeys.

On the other hand, the famous iPhone manufacturer from China and Taiwan is also one to join the electric vehicle market with its plans to be a central figure in its production and assembly.

Foxconn's goals are soon coming in the future for the world to see, soon to be a staple name in the clean energy automotive industry, from its beginnings from smartphones.

This strategic partnership would soon unfold to deliver autonomous driving-equipped electric vehicles from different manufacturers, courtesy of Foxconn and NVIDIA. With both companies bordering on their strengths and capabilities as their bread and butter in this venture, this autonomous driving technology will soon be available to the global market, under the respective car brands.
