Amazon is massive on its streaming, and one of its strongest suits is its sports content available on Prime Video which it aims to make independent from the platform. According to reports, this new focus of the company will center on an all-new Amazon Sports app, one that will give fans and enthusiasts a chance to enjoy their favorite games from different events and teams.
And while there are reports behind this, it is still unknown what this new experience will be called or when it will arrive in the future.
Amazon Sports App is a Standalone Hub Coming Soon
The Information's report centers on a new venture for Amazon that has been planned by the company in the past, one that would deliver more of what its library offers over at Prime Video. Allegedly, this is the Amazon Sports app that will center mostly on, well, sports, with the different content and highlights already available online.
It already features multiple contents from the National Football League, Premier League for the English football alliance, and the New York Yankees team for Major League Baseball.
The report claimed that CEO Andy Jassy previously claimed that it is planning to feature live streaming for sports as one of its focuses and venture. Amazon is to focus on this despite needing to cut costs in certain areas.

Amazon Sports app to Detach from Prime Video?
According to Engadget, this move from Amazon would detach its sports content from Prime Video, and it is also fitting as the platform is already cluttered with content as it is.
Moreover, this focus would declutter the platform to better streamline its content available to the public, with sports having a specific focus on a different app.
Amazon and its Content Platforms for All
Amazon Prime Video is one of the largest streaming platforms in the world, and it is one of the OGs of streaming that followed in Netflix's footsteps after the on-demand services boomed. Here, the company also features a massive sports library on the platform, with the NFL Thursday's football helping boost its platform.
Apart from Prime Video with its movies, series, documentaries, and other content, Amazon has another famous platform under its company. It is with the gaming and lifestyle streaming website that it acquired last 2014, Twitch, with the famous platform seeing significant names in the industry to be part of its platform since its humble beginnings.
With Amazon's massive library on the Prime Video experience, it is enough to cover only the shows and films on the website, with its capabilities to go into another Sports streaming app.
However, the question lies in whether it is a worth-it service for another subscription, as it is also facing competition with the largest sports companies in the world that offers a premium experience for a standalone app.
