Tesla's Enhanced Autopilot is now being offered for free to its electric vehicle (EV) owners this holiday season.
The Elon Musk-owned carmaker is giving away a new perk for its customers - a free trial of its driving assistance feature. It looks like the giant EV maker wants its users to try out the Enhanced Autopilot option that it offers.
Tesla Now Offers Free Enhanced Autopilot for EV Owners
For the holidays, Tesla has been a bit more generous. It has already discounted the prices of some of its EVs.
And this time, it seems that it is not enough. The Musk-owned EV maker is now offering another holiday perk, allowing its users to try out the Enhanced Autopilot free of charge.
According to a recent report by Inside EVs, Tesla is now giving its all-electric car owners a chance to snag the Enhanced Autopilot for as long as 30 days. It is a free trial of the driving assistance service. Perhaps to introduce it to more of its customers.
Some Tesla owners are now sharing that they got their hands on the holiday freebie of the carmaker.
A Twitter user, TechAU, shared a photo of the Tesla pop-up, disclosing the free Enhanced Autopilot.
The EV firm tells users that a "complimentary trial of Enhanced Autopilot has been enabled for you to enjoy for 30 days." On top of that, Tesla also greets its owners with "Happy Holidays!"
Inside EV says that the month-long trial might just convince some EV owners to buy the freebie feature once the offering expires. It should cost them roughly $6,000, which is still cheaper than the controversial Full Self-Driving beta of the carmaker.
It is worth noting that the FSD beta retails for $15,000. And unfortunately, Tesla is not offering any free trial for now.

How Does Enhanced Autopilot Work?
That said, some might now be wondering what the Enhanced Autopilot offers. How does it differ from the standard Autopilot or the FSD Beta?
The Tesla message that TechAU shared explains what the free Enhanced Autopilot brings to the table. It comes with handy driving assistance features like "Auto Lane Change" and "Autopark."
It also brings "Summon" and "Smart Summon" functionalities, allowing Tesla EVs to fetch you to your location using the GPS on your phone. Apart from these features, one of the features to check out is the "Navigate on Autopilot.
Inside EVs highlights that it misses out on some FSD beta features, such as the Stop Sign control and the Traffic Light control.
