Google Play Store ‘Purchase Requests’ Coming Soon to Control Your Child’s In-App Buying Spree

Google is letting parents have the full control on all purchases.

Google is giving parents extra assistance with the new feature called "Purchase Requests" for the Play Store.

This feature aims to help ask parents before authorizing an in-app purchase made by their child, especially for those who have not yet set up a family payment method on the platform. It aims to avoid any spending spree for the Play Store, one that might end up surprising parents with their monthly credit card bills or any additional charge on different payment methods.

In the recent Google Keyword blog post, the Mountain View giant is expanding more of the payment methods for families in a shared account, with this new feature called "Purchase Requests." Instead of getting approved immediately for a linked card for a specific in-app purchase, Google will display a message saying "Ask your parent."

After which, parents or managers will get a real-time prompt regarding approving a certain transaction in buying apps or currencies in the games linked to one's payment method registered on the Play Store.

It will help those that have not yet set up any family payment methods to avoid extra charges on their cards via the Play Store.

Want to Continue with In-App Purchases? Ask Your Parents First

If the children or those who share the payment method want to buy something via the Play Store, they have to ask their parents first to get approval.

According to Android Central, Google will provide parents or managers additional information regarding the pending purchase for them to review before clicking approve.

Google Play Store and its Features Available

One of the largest app marketplaces in the world is Google's Play Store and it is the number one source for all Android needs, centering on different features for people to access while on the app. It recently brought the "Offers" tab feature on the platform, and it focuses on delivering different limited-time sales or events for people to enjoy with their apps.

Another great update for the Play Store is the recent Google policy regarding ad tracking, one where users have the option to turn it off on their use of the internet company's apps. It means that Android users who ticked the option to avoid tracking will be protected from app trackers, protecting user data and information in the process.

The Google Play Store delivers many apps for users to experience, one that helps bring different experiences, especially in fulfilling in-app purchases on each service. Now, instead of approving all transactions in shared payment methods, parents and managers may control every transaction made by other devices in this latest Play Store feature.
