It is that time of the year again when the planet is nearing the completion of its rotation around the Sun, and major tech companies like Instagram are offering its Recap 2022, taking people a trip down memory lane. Yes, you heard that right, as Meta is now bringing back Instagram Recap 2022 to deliver you the best moments of the year with a new twist.
Instead of this recap compiling your Instagram Stories and having you post them as-well, stories, that will expire in 24 hours, users may have the option to turn them as Reels in this new template.
Instagram 2022 Recap: Collaborating with Massive Artists
Instagram is going on a different way with its year-in-review now, as it will center on the 2022 Recap name and focus on Reels for people to use for their enjoyment. The social media platform collaborated with the likes of rapper Badshah, DJ Khaled, Bad Bunny, and "Stranger Things" actress, Priah Ferguson.
The goal now is to push people into the new experience for their year-in-review, one that would evolve from last year's Stories to a new form of vertical media.
Meta only introduced year-end recollections last December 2021 with the personalized Year-In Review with Facebook and Instagram, now centering on a different take.
Instagram Recap 2022 is now Infused with Meta Reels
Instagram's 2022 Recap will appear on one's News Feed as a pop-up for people to see their top stories, statistics, and posts to compile into one media. But instead of heading into the Stories, people may use it to create Reels for a more permanent time on their profile (as long as it is posted).
However, not all will have the pop-up or might not see it in time, so users may head to the Reels tab and look for the 2022 Recap option or head to this link (on mobile) to access it immediately.
Instagram, Spotify, and Apple Music's Year Review
There are many tech companies offering people a chance to review their entire year and look at what they have been browsing, posting, and interacting with on the public's use of their platform. Some of those include the famous Spotify Wrapped which started years ago, centering on giving people a look back on how much their music preferences evolved or changed.
On the other hand, another massive music streaming platform, Apple Music, also joins in with this, which the company started in 2020 called the "Replay." And while this is similar to what Spotify offers, it is unique for Apple Music users only, focusing on statistics like top songs played, top artists listened to, top albums, and finally, creating a playlist from the user's entire year.
With all of this featuring a year-in-review of their music streaming, Instagram goes a different route with its end of year Recap that will center on top posts and stories for all. The only change now is that people may transform it into Reels, the vertical format of the company, where they can post it as a long story or to their profile.
