North Korea's ICBMs are expected to be more mobile and undetectable.
On Thursday, Dec. 15, the North Korean government tested a new high-thrust solid-fuel motor for its intercontinental ballistic missiles.
KCNA (Korean Central News Agency) released some photos of the test, which showed that the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, attended the demonstration.
Because of his presence, many experts concluded that it is guaranteed that there will soon be a new ICBM model.
North Korea's ICBMs to be More Undetectable and Mobile!
According to CNN's latest report, the new solid-fuel motor was tested at a satellite launching ground site, which is located in Pyongyang.
"That, my friends, is the first stage of a solid propellant ICBM," said East Asia Nonproliferation Program at the Center for Non-proliferation Studies Director Jeffrey Lewis.
Critics stated that since the test was successful, the new high-thrust motor could be significant to North Korea's defenses if it were integrated into ICBMs.
Kim Jong Un also praised the successful test, saying that he expects the new weapon to be constructed as soon as possible, reported NBC Chicago.
Solid-Fueled ICBMs
As of writing, North Korea and other countries are using liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Although they are quite efficient, the solid-fueled ICBMs are proven to be more effective and stable based on the latest motor test in North Korea.
These solid-fueled rockets can move easily and be launched faster than liquid-fueled models.
While North Korea is still developing its solid-fueled ICBMs, the United States already uses one; the Minuteman III.
Aside from North Korea, other nations are also making drastic efforts to enhance their defense techs further.
Recently, Japan partnered with Italy and Britain to create a next-gen fighter airplane.
Malaysia's multi-billion warship project is also expected to resume soon.
