Self-Driving Electric Tractor: T4 Electric Power
As per the latest news story by Engadget, CNH Industrial introduced what it claims to be the "first all-electric light utility tractor," which rocks self-driving functionalities.
The news outlet notes that this self-driving tractor promises a quieter overall experience than diesel offerings. Not to mention that this electric machine vows zero emissions.
Given that, farmers will no longer have to spend too much time operating their tractors. And what's more, it should also help them lower their overall expenses. The firm claims that it could potentially reduce the overall cost by roughly 90%. The same could be said for its deafening quietness.
The Chief Digital and Information Officer of CNH Industrial, Marc Kermisch, explains in a media release what the all-electric tractor brings to the table.
Kermisch touts that "the T4 Electric Power is the ideal solution for lower horsepower operations. It is suited to a mixed farm, livestock, municipality, orchard, and specialty applications."
The Chief Digital and Information Officer further offers that their "customers are eager to adopt this type of product." He went on to state that "it makes perfect sense for us to continue our Ag electrification journey with this platform.
The all-electric motor of the autonomous tractor lashes out up to 120 horsepower, along with 440 Nm of torque. On paper, the maximum speed of the T4 Electric Power goes as fast as 40 kilometers per hour (KPH).
Self-Driving Features
The T4 Electric Power notably drives on its own, much like what Elon Musk is trying to do with Tesla electric vehicles (EVs).
And to do so, this electric tractor sports several cameras, sensors, and control units in its body. Farmers would no longer need to spend too much time operating it. They could activate it remotely by using their smartphones.

CNH Industrial Now Focuses on Farming Services
According to a recent report by Reuters, CNH Industrial announced that it is halting its construction sales in China. The decision is all due to the growing competition, which gravely affected their market share in the country.
So starting December 31, the construction and agriculture firm would cease offering its construction equipment in the Chinese nation.
And instead, CNH Industrial is now looking to focus on expanding its electric tractors as farming solutions.
