Twitter Blue Subscription Will Be $4 Cheaper For Web Users

You know where to use Twitter Blue if it comes out.

Twitter Blue's fixed pricing appears to be unstable at the moment since Elon Musk hinted at a new set of subscription costs for the service.

The Information reports that the microblogging site might consider charging $7 for Twitter Blue users who will access the service via the web. The offer is expected to be more expensive on iPhone apps at $11.

Twitter Blue Pricing Changes

There are two different pricing for Twitter Blue, and it varies from one platform to another. For instance, the social media giant will be charging a much higher fee on the iPhone because of Apple's 30% tax.

It should be noted that some developers are complaining about Apple's unfair cut on App Store apps. If they want to compensate with this policy, their yearly earnings through the App Store should reach over $1 million.

Because of this, Apple allows developers to place higher charge fees for iPhone app subscriptions.

For example, every month, Spotify's App Store subscription falls to $12.99. Meanwhile, the web version only sits at $9.99. There was a time when the music streaming giant informed users that they should stick to the web subscription service rather than Apple's App Store purchase.

Twitter Blue Scammers

The announcement of Elon about the price increase of the blue tick subscription did not only attract critics. It also reportedly attracted scammers who might take advantage of the newest paid service.

As Tech Times reported, some fake accounts were copying the legit accounts of actors and celebrities, including LeBron James and Mark Zuckerberg.

Even Rockstar Games, the game studio behind "Grand Theft Auto," has become a victim of the fake account.

At first glance, you might think that every announcement posted on Twitter is true, but when you pay attention to it, it's indeed a fakester disguised as a real account.

To address this, Twitter has added a gray check to verify legitimate accounts across the platform. Since scammers and impostors are flocking to the site, there's a need to assess every account that is created right away.

Elon Musk Talks With Apple

According to a report by Mashable, the current Twitter CEO has a complaint with Apple regarding the Apple Tax. The article suggests that the iPhone maker has the desire to ban Twitter from becoming available on the App Store.

In this regard, Musk can only think of one thing, if ever that happens: creating a unique smartphone made by Twitter.

Just recently, the business tycoon had a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook at the main HQ of the company. Musk said that the discussion with Cook was a "good conversation," and he was sure that Apple would not resort to banning the social media app on the App Store.
