Yuumi is among the most-picked support champions in the Summoner's Rift.

Although Yuumi is a complicated hero, many players practice this champion, especially those who love cats.

As of writing, Yuumi has a 100% win rate during the recent "League of Legends" World Championship 2022.

This hero also has a 95% pick/ban rate during the previous international tournament. Because Yuumi is being criticized by other gamers, Riot Games decided to work on its changes.

'League of Legends' Yuumi Rework Confirmed

According to Game Rant's latest report, Riot Games' upcoming Yuumi rework will focus on nerfing the character.

"Yuumi changes for 12.23 are aimed at reducing her Pro Play power (lane vulnerability & CC). We want to balance Yuumi around regular play and not Pro," said Riot Games Lead Designer Matt Leung-Harrison via his official Twitter announcement.

He added that the changes are not meant to reduce Yuumi's frustration; this is a different problem that Riot Games is already working at.

Matt also said that they will provide further updates regarding the plans for the Yuumi rework. He further stated that new details will be shared in a QGT, which is scheduled in the upcoming weeks.

What to Expect From Yuumi Rework

Riot Games hasn't confirmed the exact skill and gameplay changes that will be implemented to balance Yuumi.

But, Leung-Harrison clarified that the ability of Yuumi to enter allied heroes will remain.
The game designer explained this skill is quite essential since it allows pro-players to reduce the counter-plays of their opponents.

On the other hand, the situation is quite different with amateur gamers since they can't fully take advantage of Yuumi's "You and Me" (W) skill.

This is why Riot Games could face difficulties balancing the support hero. Matt shared that one of their solutions to this issue is to increase the counterplays while Yuumi is attached to other heroes.

Aside from these, here are other solutions that Matt considers implementing:

  • Have her power tied more to her own personal success
  • More incentives to not abandon her lane partner and look at her scaling profile

Riot Games already adjusted Yuumi's strengths at professional levels of competitions. But, the game publisher said that these changes are not the adjustments that players are asking for.

If you are among the players frustrated about Yuumi's current abilities and gameplay, the best thing you can do is wait for Riot Games' further announcements.

Previously, the "LoL" developer also changed some characters.

The recent "League of Legends" Patch 12.17 buffed some iconic heroes.

We also reported that Riot Games released the new "League of Legends" K'Sante champ.
