Xbox game prices are inevitably increasing by next year or in 2023, Microsoft confirmed.
The hike affects first-party titles, including mega-hits like "Starfield" and "Forza Motorsport," to name a few.
Xbox Game Price Increases Are Coming This 2023
Microsoft announced that it is increasing the prices of Xbox first-party gaming titles starting next year, as per the latest story by PC Gamer.
And as such, the first-party games for Xbox Series S and Series X are getting a bit more expensive than ever. Massive hits like "Starfield" will cost more starting next year.
According to a recent report by Games Radar, none other than the Xbox boss, Phil Spencer, previously hinted at the price hike.
As early as October, he subtly suggested that their console, games, and subscription prices are jacking up next year. He furthered that "we've held price on console, we've held price on games and our subscription."
The big boss of Xbox went on to say that these prices are not going to last forever. "I don't think we'll be able to do that forever," the tech exec adds.
And now, the time seems to have come for its gaming titles.
However, it is worth noting that it remains to be seen if Xbox gaming consoles are also soaring their price tag next year. On top of that, it is also unclear if the Game Pass service will soon be more expensive.
For now, the renowned tech giant only confirmed the hike for its first-party games.

'Forza,' 'Starfield,' and More Are Getting More Expensive
The spokesperson of Microsoft told IGN in an interview that "this price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles."
Xbox hits games like "Forza Motorsport," "Starfield," and "Redfall" will cost nearly $70 or $69.99, to be more exact, starting next year. The new pricing is pretty much a $10 increase. Previously these titles only cost $60.
PC Gamer notes in its report that the pricing also reflects the PC versions of these games. Microsoft says the more expensive price tag takes effect "across console and PC storefronts."
Given that, if you are going to buy, let's say, "Redfall" for PCs, you will have to spend $10 more starting in 2023.
It is important to mention that Microsoft is not the first-ever gaming giant to raise prices to $70.
For instance, Activision debuted "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" to Steam to the tune of $70.
