The automaker will supply over 2,000 E-Transit EV vans to DHL by the end of 2023. It can be recalled that the E-Transit was unveiled in November 2020. The E-transit is the fully-electric version of Ford's best-selling cargo van.

Now, the E-Transit plays a significant role in the transition to sustainable transportation in the commercial van market. So far this year, almost 6,000 E-Transit vans have been sold.

What E-Transit Can Bring Consumers

Businesses who plan to make the switch to electric vans with the 2023 E-Transit can expect Pro Power Onboard with up to 126-mile range. Moreover, you don't need to worry about paying too much for maintenance because the E-Transit delivers 50 percent fewer maintenance costs. Finally, the E-Transit is available in three roof heights, lengths, and models to choose from.

The E-Transit also comes with Ford Pro's suite of business software solutions that can make things even more efficient, at the same time, reduce costs. This is because Ford Pro is a one-stop-shop solution that combines financing, service, and charging solutions.

Ford and DHL

The agreement between these two companies will be a driving force in the EV van industry all over the world. As mentioned, Ford will supply over 2,000 E-Transit electric vans to DHL, equipped with Ford Pro and E-Telematics.

The agreement will also help both companies reach their zero emissions goal by 2050. DHL strives for 60 percent e-vehicles by 2030, while Ford aims to reach zero emissions for all vehicle sales and carbon neutrality across its facilities by 2035.

All in all, there will be around 27,000 electric vans for DHL. The first batch of the E-Transit vans has been delivered.

Also, the new agreement will allow Ford and DHL to co-develop future products and charging solutions. This also means that DHL will give early access to test new electric vehicles.

The Rise of Electric Vans

The rise of electric vans is pretty clear, and a lot of advances have been made in the past year. More and more companies are switching to e-vans, which will lower their operating costs and have a bigger environmental impact.

The number of electric vans on the road will rise and rise as technology, costs, charging networks, and incentives change.

And to think that electric vans were nothing more than a fantasy of some EV enthusiasts a couple of years ago. Well, not anymore.
