Tesla Model 3 and Model Y $3,750 discount is available to customers who are willing to get their hands on the electric vehicle (EV) this December.
So if you have your EV delivered before the year ends, you can save roughly $3,750. But hold your horses just yet as it is bound to get way cheaper starting next year.
Tesla Model 3 and Model Y Getting $3,750 Discount This December
As per the latest news story by Tech Crunch, Tesla is now offering a massive discount for its Model 3 and Model Y EVs in the United States. Buyers this December are getting as much as $3,750 credit if they have it delivered this month.
It is worth mentioning that Tesla rarely gives out discounts on its new EV offerings. In fact, Elon Musk consistently said that his automaker would not give away special price cuts for its new vehicles.
But this time, it appears that the Musk-owned EV maker is going against it by giving away a rare discount for its best-selling all-electric cars.
Tech Crunch notes that the Inventory page on the Tesla website now mentions the rare discount, which the EV maker dubs as "credit."
The announcement tells customers to "take delivery of a new Model 3 or Model Y in December 2022 for a $3,750 credit."
Why is Tesla Giving Away a Rare Discount?
The report from Tech Crunch says that the giant EV maker did not specifically explain why it is suddenly giving away credit for December deliveries of its sought-after vehicles.
Meanwhile, Business Insider reports that some customers have begun canceling their orders due to the long delivery wait time.
On top of that, some buyers appear to be pushing their Tesla EV purchases until next year.
With that said, it might be the reason why the giant EV maker decided to generously give away a rare credit before the year ends.
EV Are Getting Cheaper in 2023
But why are customers delaying their purchases until the start of 2023? Well, it turns out that the new EV tax credit of the Biden Administration begins next January.
While the Musk-owned EV maker has long been skipping tax credits due to the 200,000 vehicle sales cap, the new system now waives that limitation starting Jan. 1
And given that, Tesla EV can start getting up to a cool $3,750 tax credits by next year. But buyers could get their hands on a similar discount as early as December.
