'Pokemon Scarlet and Violet' is among the most-anticipated game titles from Nintendo this year. First announced in February, this new Pokemon game is the franchise's first fully open-world game, and many had expectations high for the game.
Unfortunately, a few days after its release, players have already complained about several performance issues and bugs. Some even demanded the video game company for refunds.
Nintendo seems to be already taking notice of the clamor of its fan base, as it recently announced that the company is taking feedback from players 'seriously' and will continue to work on improvements to the game. This message comes along with the release of a software update for 'Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.'
"We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games' performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience," the console company said in a recent blog post.
Performance Issues and Bugs
Dexerto reports that developer Game Freak faced significant backlash in light of 'Pokemon Scarlet and Violet' major bugs and issues.
Many players reported several visual bugs where a Pokemon suddenly disappears, avatars' heads twist, and incorrectly placed Pokeballs during battles. It is not only that, but many players also took to the Internet to share how laggy the game was.

Some of these glitches may look funny to some, but other game errors sometimes cause the game to be unplayable, like when characters and Pokemons glitch out the screen or when characters suddenly fall out of the map.
The game currently has a 2.9 out of 5 rating at Metacritic, which reflects how frustrated players have become with the Pokemon game less than a month after launch.
Latest 'Pokemon Scarlet and Violet' Update
The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have announced a new version 1.1.0 update for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. The update will be available in North America on Dec. 1 and in Europe on Dec. 2.
Nintendo informs users that the update is required to access the game's online features. To play together, all players must use the same software version. The business stresses that saved data will remain available after downloading the update for those concerned about losing their progress.
The launch of Ranked Battles Season 1 is the centerpiece of the update. An issue that occurred during the battles with the Elite Four and Top Champion on the Victory Road path was fixed.
Nintendo has yet to specify which bugs or errors will be fixed with this update. According to the patch notes, the update adds around 1GB of memory, which is a significant increase.
Players must connect their Nintendo Switch console to the Internet to access the update. Then, from the HOME Menu, users should highlight the icon for the software they want to update without running it.
Then, on your controller, press the + or - button, and select Software Update, followed by Via the Internet. After installing the update, the most recent version number will be displayed on the title screen.
