YouTube iPhone and iPad apps keep crashing, according to numerous iOS and iPadOS users.
Thousands of users reported they were having trouble watching YouTube videos on their iPhones and iPads.
YouTube App for iPhone, iPad Crashing Issue
As per the recent report by XDA Developers, when iPhone users attempted to watch videos on YouTube as part of their daily routines, the app ended up frustratingly crashing.
And it turns out that the issue is not isolated to a single user. Instead, numerous users went on to report that they were also experiencing the same problem.
XDA Developers say that the YouTube app for Apple TV devices also started to be wonky. But most reports point to the iPhone and iPad app of the video sharing service.
Besides the main app, YouTube Music also started crashing for some users. But it seems that the issue is not as widespread as the video sharing platform. Or maybe, there are less users for the music streaming service. Thus, there were less reports about the problem in its app.
Downdetector apparently received roughly seven thousand reports, saying something is wrong with the YouTube app.
According to a news story by The Verge, the magnitude of the crashing issue is unclear. However, it looks like thousands of users were affected by what seems to be a bug.
The official Twitter account of TeamYouTube acknowledged the crashing issue. It tweeted that "many" users are experiencing the problem.
Some users say that they have tried closing and opening the app again. But the issue persisted after a few seconds.
Given that, the video streaming platform initially assured users that a fix is on its way.
TeamYouTube assures users that they "have begun working on a fix!"

YouTube Says it Has Fixed the App Crashing Issue
And now, YouTube says it has finally addressed the issue.
The TeamYouTube Twitter says that "the YouTube app on iOS devices should now be working fine with no crashes."
However, if you are still experiencing issues, you might want to try these temporary remedies.
XDA Developers notes in its report that YouTube is alternatively accessible via your web browser on your iPhone or iPad.
To be frank, watching videos on a mobile browser is far from the seamless experience on the app. However, in the meantime, it is better than the endless crashing.
But given that YouTube claims that the issue has been fixed. The crashing problem should be completely gone by now.
