Man Who Bought 300 iPhones Robbed After Leaving the Apple Store
As per the latest news story by Mac Rumors, the iPhone buyer is a 27-year-old man who stormed the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue to buy 300 units of the flagship mobile device.
While most folks are hitting the stores to chance upon massive Black Friday discounts, this man bought hundreds of iPhones.
The police explained that the victim made the bulk purchase for his small business. It turns out that he resells these smartphones. Thus, he had to buy hundreds of units.
He left the Fifth Avenue store at around 1:45 am carrying three bags, which contained 300 iPhones.
With the smaller packaging of the iPhone these days, sacrificing the charging adapter, these hundreds of phones fit in three bags.
However, as the man was walking towards his parked car near the Apple Store, he got robbed.
Thieves Stole 125 iPhones Worth a Whopping $95,000
According to a recent report by Apple Insider, another car pulled over as the iPhone buyer was on his way to his parked vehicle. After this, two men asked him to give the bags that contained hundreds of brand-new smartphones.
But instead of surrendering to the demands of the thieves, the 27-year-old man decided to fight back. Well, these bags contain nearly a hundred dollars worth of iPhones, so it might not be easy to merely let go of it after some men demanded it.
However, the robbers punched him in the face and ended up getting their hands on one of the bags.
The police say that the bag that the attackers stole contains roughly 125 iPhones, which are worth nearly $100,000.
It is worth noting that the Fifth Avenue store of the Cupertino-based tech giant is open 24 hours a day. So that explains why a man made a bulk purchase past midnight.
Apple Insider notes in its report that the reseller might have chosen to do his purchase at an odd time to stay away from the eyes of the general public. But despite that, two men still chanced upon him, and stole hundreds of iPhones from him.
