We might still be counting down the months until Samsung releases its newest S22 lineup of smartphones. But despite its release still seeming far away, we already have a lot of leaks at hand regarding its specifications and performance. Perhaps this leaked FCC listing is the most reliable to date.
As per a Mashable India report, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have been listed on the FCC website, disclosing several key specifications. This suggests that the new smartphone lineup may arrive sooner than previously anticipated.
Previous reports tell us that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series could be released next January or February, running on the latest Android 13 OS.
What the FCC Listing Tells Us
Based on the FCC website, the model numbers for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are SM-S911B and SM-S916B, respectively. Both smartphones will be able to support 23W fast charging, based on the FCC listing.
The battery powering the basic model also appears to have the product number EB-BS912ABY with a rated capacity of 3785mAh and a usual rating of 3900mAh.
It's interesting to note that this is the first time the battery parameters of a gadget have been revealed through a leak. Previous Tech Times reports told us a lot about the chipset, display, and camera of the S23, but not as much about the battery and charging.
While the battery in the Galaxy S23+ is expected to have a normal capacity of 4700mAh and a rated capacity of 4565mAh, as per the FCC website, the power supply's model number will be EB-BS916ABY.
Both smartphones are recognized in the FCC database as having Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 hardware. Additionally, there is no information on the listing about the camera or display characteristics.
Recent leaks of renders for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ indicate that the devices will have a punch-hole cutout design for the front camera sensor.
Meanwhile, Gadgets360 tells us that a 6.1-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate will be featured on the base model. At the same time, the plus model is anticipated to have a larger 6.6-inch display and comparable functionality.
In the same report, it is said that Samsung is anticipated to release smartphones with a 50MP primary camera sensor and 12MP wide-angle and 10MP telephoto lenses. The smartphones are anticipated to include a 32MP selfie camera up front.
Previous Leaks
The most exciting leaked additions appear to be on the camera, which might take 200-megapixel photos. If the Samsung Galaxy S23 is released, the 200MP sensor is expected to be available solely in the Ultra model. This is comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which has a 108MP primary sensor over the other versions' 50MP main sensors.
