Lucid's cheaper all-electric sedan or EV might see the light of day sometime in 2025. But it might already be in the works as early as now.
Given that, we could see a more affordable Lucid EV offering in the following years.
Lucid's Cheaper Sedan EV
As per the latest news story by Inside EVs, the current offerings of Lucid Motors cost more than a hundred thousand dollars - until last week.
The EV maker introduced a new all-electric sedan that cost less than its usual hefty pricing. The Pure variant sports a cheaper price tag to the tune of $89,050.
But it seems like the automaker is working to cut down the price of its next offering. And it is going to be much cheaper than its most affordable offering these days.
Inside EVs says in its report that the cheaper Lucid EV is likely to go as low as $50,000, which is more than half its typical pricing for its vehicles.
It is worth noting that an Air Touring costs roughly $110,000. But to be fair, this EV offering rocks impressive performance and top-notch features.
Lucid is rumored to be working on its cheaper sedan, but it might take a while before we lay our eyes on it. The news outlet claims that it could debut sometime in 2025.
The report further cited a video wherein Lucid CEO, Peter Rawlinson, strolled along three vehicles, suggesting a third model other than the Pure variant.
However, do take this with a grain of salt. The EV maker has yet to confirm such plans. So it is unclear if Lucid is actually working on it as early as now. But it does seem that they are looking to provide a better base price for the all-electric cars.
Inside EVs notes in its report that the vice president of design and brand, Derek Jenkins, spoke to Automotive News about the value of a competitive base price.
The Lucid exec states "all of the development of the high-end cars has trickled down to this car at a better entry-level price, but still with pretty remarkable specifications."
Lucid Air Pure: Is it Really Worth It?
So far, Lucid has unveiled its Air Pure model as its cheapest offering.
According to a recent report by Business Insider, the new Pure variant is cheaper than the Tesla Model S by about $14,000.
The Lucid Air Pure retails for roughly $92,900. On the other hand, the Tesla flagship EV cost around $104,990.
The cheaper luxury electric car offers up to 410 miles, whereas the Model S achieves around 405 miles on a single charge.
