Samsung Galaxy S23 reportedly sports a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which flaunts a higher-clocked CPU and GPU, once it hits the shelves early next year.
It was initially reported that the upcoming flagship smartphone of the South Korean phone maker is set to feature the Qualcomm chipset with a higher-clocked CPU. But it turns out the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 of the Galaxy S23 also comes with a better GPU.
Samsung Galaxy S23's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Comes with Higher-Clock CPU
As per a recent report by GSM Arena, a well-known leaker revealed that Samsung is gearing up to debut its upcoming Galaxy S23 with an upgraded version of the newly announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The leaker that goes by the name Ice Universe says that the renowned phone maker is powering its next flagship with the Qualcomm chip that flaunts a higher frequency.
The popular leaker says that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a higher frequency will be exclusively available for the renowned South Korean giant.
To be more precise, the Samsung-exclusive Snapdragon chip achieves up to 3.36 GHz. GSM Arena notes in its news story that other phone makers are only getting up to 3.2 GHz.
But besides the higher CPU clock speeds, the Galaxy S23 processor reportedly also comes with a better GPU than the non-Samsung counterpart.
The Samsung-Exclusive Qualcomm Chip Also Flaunts Higher-Clock GPU
According to a news story by Sam Mobile, it turns out that the Galaxy S23 version of the Qualcomm flagship chipset not only sports a higher-clocked CPU. Instead, it reportedly rocks an upgraded GPU as well.
The Samsung-exclusive Snapdragon processor reportedly achieves up to 719 MHz of GPU. On the other hand, the standard version only clocked at roughly 680 Mhz.
And as such, it looks like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the upcoming flagship offering of the South Korean phone maker offers better clock speeds for its CPU and GPU.
Sam Mobile notes in the same report that it is not the first time that Qualcomm has released a special version of its flagship chip, which offers higher clock speeds.
In fact, previous offerings, including the Snapdragon 855, already did so. But the upgraded version debuted with a distinct moniker, known as the Snapdragon 855+.
However, it remains to be seen what the chip that reportedly powers the next Samsung flagship is going to be named.
Given that the Samsung-exclusive chip has yet to see the light of day, it is still unclear how this processor holds up against its standard version.
