Apple TV 4K's 128GB storage variant had an annoying bug that prevents its users from installing apps beyond 64GB.
But this time, the Cupertino-based tech giant has started rolling out a fix through its new tvOS 16.1.1 update.
Apple TV 4K 128GB Storage Bug
If you bought a third-generation Apple TV 4K streaming box with 128GB of internal storage, you sure are expecting to stuff it with tons of apps.
However, as per a recent report by Mac World, some users noticed early this week that the 128BGB variant could only fill up to 64GB.
Once users have reached the 64GB storage capacity, they can no longer install new apps.
So even if they have yet to reach their 128GB storage limit, the streaming device prevents them from adding new games or streaming apps.
It turns out that tvOS 16.1 comes with a bug that limits its users to 64GB, at least when installing apps and games.
Once users hit that limit, they get an error message, saying "the app can't be installed because there isn't enough space."
The prompt further suggests Apple TV users to delete some of their apps to make space even if they still have half of their storage capacity left.
tvOS 16.1.1 Update Fixes Annoying Storage Bug
All that said, the iPhone maker has released a new tvOS update that addresses the serious storage issue for its Apple TV 4K.
According to a recent report by Apple Insider, the new tvOS 16.1.1 software update appears to specifically address the storage bug.
Given that, once Apple TV owners install the latest tvOS update, their storage will no longer be cut in half. It should let them download several apps and games without seeing an error message.

How to Install the Latest tvOS Version
Apple Insider notes in its news article that Apple TV users have two routes to choose from. They could wait for the update to install automatically. Or owners can also manually get their hands on the software fix.
To manually update, go to the Setting app and select the System option. From there, head to the Software Updates. Then, select the "Update Software" button.
Once that's out of the way, the storage capacity of the Apple TV 4K should be back to normal.
