The Xbox November update is rolling out, bringing various improvements, including better Discord voice chat support.
Xbox November Update
As per the latest report by Euro Gamer, Microsoft has started rolling out the November update for its Xbox gaming consoles. And as such, new features are on their way to all its users, including the much-awaited improved Discord support.
But aside from the refinements for Discord integration, the new Xbox November update also brings other handy features and improvements.
For instance, the update brings new and improved streaming support for various platforms, such as Lightstream, Streamlab Studio, and Twitch.
On top of these welcome improvements, the new Xbox update introduces a new Captures app. It essentially allows gamers to view and edit their gameplay captures.
Discord Support for Xbox Consoles
One of the biggest upgrades for the November Xbox update is none other than the improved integration of Discord voice chat.
According to a recent news story by IGN, Microsoft rolled out the Discord integration for Xbox gaming consoles last September.
But despite that, the feature has some sort of limitation. IGN notes in the same article that the integration initially required Xbox players to open their Discord app from their smartphones or desktops. From there, they would have to transfer the voice call to an Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S.
Given that, the integration still asks its Discord users to open their app elsewhere instead of working straight from the gaming console.
But this time, the latest update for Xbox consoles now allows users to connect to a Discord voice chat via their console. The new version no longer requires them to access the app on a mobile device or desktop.
Euro Gamer reports that gamers could launch a Discord server via the Parties & chats option on the gaming console.
The new update also introduces a noise suppression feature for Discord voice chat, at least for the owners of Xbox Series X/S. It should make their voice clearer as it ditches the annoying background noise.
New Captures App
Apart from improvements to existing features, Microsoft also debuts a new Captures app for its console users.
It lets them view or edit their gameplay captures. They could also send their videos and screenshots to an external drive if they want to store them.
Not to mention that the game now supports better bitrate for both 720p and 1080p, allowing gamers to re-watch their plays in stunning quality.
