Niantic is Fixing Zorua Bug in 'Pokemon Go,' But Fans Find it 'Worthless'

"Pokemon Go" players called it a "worthless" free box.

"Pokemon Go" players are startled by the controversial Zorua bug after the event. Immediately, Niantic apologized to all affected trainers in the game and promised to compensate them with a nice package.

However, instead of being happy with the gift, some users become disappointed with the outcome. The issuance of the free box turns out to be a disaster for other players.

Zorua, the Dark-type Pokemon from Generation V, made its way to "Pokemon Go" on Oct. 15 as part of the Shuppet Spotlight Hour. Back then, many trainers requested this Pokemon to arrive in the game and it's about time to introduce another cute creature on the battlefield.

However, as Dexerto reported, Niantic removed it right away after some trainers complained about the Zorua bug. Some players said that its stats changed after catching it. When they attempted to trade it, they were disabled.

The AR-focused company confirmed that the problem was on their end. At the moment, Niantic announced that it would fix the annoying bug on Zorua. To compensate for the inconvenience that it caused the whole community, the free gift boxes will be given away to the fans.

"By way of apology, you can now claim an item bundle from the in-game shop at no cost. The restrictions placed on Zorua-including its use in the GO Battle League, trading, and transferring to Pokémon HOME-have also been lifted. Thanks for your patience," Niantic said in its blog post.

'Worthless' Piece of Zorua Box

After confirming the issue, Niantic said that Zorua would soon be claimable in "Pokemon Go." With that being said, all restrictions tied up to this Pokemon will be disabled. Users can also go to the in-game shop to obtain the item bundle in the meantime.

However, the Zorua apology box still does not sit right with the trainers. Many of them called it a "worthless" gift since it only contains 20 PokeBalls, Lure Module, and a single Star Piece.

According to one Twitter user, it would have been better if Niantic did not release the free apology box after the incident. Another commenter wrote that what the company did was "more like a slap in the face." Others pointed out that Niantic should first lift the restrictions before releasing an official tweet about the gift box.

Some people said that the components of the box are just fine, but others thought that buying single items is better than claiming what's inside.

This is not the first time that Niantic was slammed by the critics in "Pokemon Go." This week, one trainer complained that he could not click the Galarian Articuno on the spawn area near the Pokestop.

Several trainers thought that the problem was influenced by the current event. One user mentioned that he experienced the same problem during his encounter with Moltres.
