Recruiting a Former Facebook Executive

Apple already hired someone to fill up the vacant position of Information Systems and Technology head, also known as IS&T. According to a report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Timothy Campos, a former Facebook employee will be leading this department and will be handling the operations for Apple's online services, customer support, and website. The company calls the whole operation a "Nerve Center" since this will be the bridge for the company to connect with its suppliers and customers. As of the moment, the team reports to Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri.

Before joining Apple's team, Campos was in a similar position back in Meta (then, Facebook) as he was also the Chief Information Officer of the company from 2010 to 2016. Prior to this, he also had the same position at a semiconductor company named KLA Corporation.

For his most recent work, Campos co-founded a startup company named Woven, a calendar application acquired by Slack Technologies Inc. and was later acquired by Salesforce Inc. "Getting ready for something new," was also stated on Campos's LinkedIn profile as he enters this new venture with Apple.

Few Executives Resign

As per 9To5Mac's report, the position was vacant as the former Current Information Chief Mary Demby will be retiring after working for almost three decades. Based on past reports, David Smoley is expected to replace Demby as he was the vice president of her team in 2019. But as per the updated report, he will also be resigning after three years working with the company.

Aside from the two, Apple Online Store Vice President Anna Matthiasson also resigned from her position. She has not disclosed any reasons to the public regarding her departure from the company. Matthiasson worked as VP for three years but she also had previous positions with the company. Karen Rasmussen, who recently worked in e-commerce, will be replacing her in this position.

Before Demby and Matthiasson's announcement of departure, Industrial Design Chief Evans Hankey also leaves the company. He served as the vice president of the design team. He replaced Jony Ive back in 2019, which is Apple's notable and iconic design chief for almost two decades. Before obtaining the role, Hankey reported to Ive and had several roles in the company.

As of now, the executive positions that are set to leave the company are the Chief Privacy Officer, Vice President of Industrial Design, Head of the Company's Online Retail, and Vice President of Software Engineering.
