Months after the resignations of two separate chiefs in Apple, there will be another two heads of the company that will step down from their positions and will affect the operations of the department that they will be leaving.
Resignation of Two Executives
Apple is about to lose an additional two executives this month. Based on a report from 9to5Mac, Apple Online Store Vice President Anna Matthiasson and Apple Information System Head Mary Demby are set to leave the company. The positions that will be vacant are the highest-level position that directly reports to the company's Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook.
Matthiasson's decision to leave the company remains unclear. She worked in this position for three years but had previous roles at Apple before the executive position (Operations Executive). Matthiasson will be replaced by Karen Rasmussen, who recently worked in e-commerce before obtaining the current role.
She headed, along with the President of the team, the Apple Online Store, which is very significant to the company, especially during the pandemic when all physical retail stores are closed for months. This was the previous position of Jennifer Bailey before she launched Apple Pay. As of now, Bailey also handles Apple Wallet, Apple Card, and other financial services that the company is offering.
Meanwhile, Demby is departing the company for the reason of retirement, as she worked for almost three decades. As per the report of Bloomberg, the position is currently vacant, and no decisions were made on who will be designated to take the position.
But David Smoley can possibly replace Demby as he was the vice president of her team in 2019. Smoley was also the Chief Information Officer for AstraZeneca, a pharmaceutical giant.
Previous Resignation for this Month
Bloomberg also reported that Evans Hankey is also leaving the company, which was days before the announcement of the two executives' resignation.
As of the moment, the position is still vacant, and the company is still deciding who will replace her. She previously led the company's design department with Alan Dy in 2019, the same year Jony Ive left Apple. Aside from this, she was also involved in how the products of the company are developed, as she worked with Ive very closely.

Since Ive's departure, there are still no replacements for the Vice President of Design on its leadership webpage. Because of this, some are criticizing the management of Tim Cook as he prioritizes the operations executives' decisions with no consent from the design team of the company.
Apple Chief Privacy Officer Jane Horvath also resigned last August as she set to work for a law firm in Los Angeles named Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher LLP. Horvath worked with Apple as the company faced a lawsuit against Epic Games for anti-competitive actions last 2020.
