Instagram Now Lets Users Schedule Posts and Reels Right in the App

A new upcoming feature will recognize creators' efforts in producing Reels.

Instagram unveiled the most-awaited option to schedule posts on the platform up to 75 days in advance. This was announced on Wednesday, Nov. 9, along with its revamped website optimized for desktop computers and mobile devices.

What Changes?

Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, revealed the changes via a post on the platform with a caption that says "finally features" which users are going to be excited about.

The social media network is now rolling out content-scheduling features right in the app. This will allow professional accounts all around the world to schedule images, carousels, and videos to publish up to 75 days in advance without having to leave Instagram.

"You've been asking for it and we've listened! We're rolling out content scheduling tools right in the Instagram app," said the post on the official Instagram account.

Scheduling Posts

Once the new content has loaded, right before you share it with others, go to the Advanced settings section at the bottom of the page. Once there, touch the "Schedule this post" button, select a time and date for the post to become visible, then go back to the post flow and click the "Schedule" button.

It is similar to Twitter's function, which allows users to schedule messages up to 18 months in advance.

Prior to that, PCmag reported that creators could only schedule posts with a linked account and Meta's Business Suite. And to complete the complicated procedure, they would either need a dedicated mobile app or the patience to wade through a large number of online pages.

Upcoming Feature

Instagram also hinted at a new feature called Achievements, which it said would recognize the work and effort creators are investing into their Reels. Currently, Instagram is testing this new feature.

According to PCmag's report, users can obtain achievements by participating in certain activities. This may include working with other users, creating more interactive films, utilizing trendy music or effects, and producing more than one Reel every week.

It is not entirely apparent what precisely gaining access to such achievements means for individuals. It is also being determined whether people receive badges or any other kind of success mark that they may flaunt to followers.

In any case, users will be able to make progress toward Achievements by utilizing the revamped website that Mosseri introduced.

Web's New Look

As mentioned, Instagram also unveiled its revamped webpage.

The desktop version initially has restricted features available to users. Photos and videos could not be uploaded before, and Stories did not exist either.

However, Instagram's parent company Meta finally began integrating these vital enhancements into the platform's website. The web version is reportedly becoming more user-friendly.

The sidebar now has menus, according to 9to5Mac. Feed and Messages are still at the bottom on mobile.

The right side of the interface now provides user recommendations.
