Audi finally introduced the latest electric SUV under e-tron, the Q8 crossover SUV, as reported by Edgadget.
The Q8 e-tron and its Sportback version will have three AWD powertrain options:
- Q8 50
- Q8 55
- SQ8
The Q8 50 is the base model that will deliver 250KW with 490 lb-ft of torque, while the Q8 55 will have an output of 300kW peak with a 490 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the top-of-the-line SQ8 will have three motors to generate 370 kW and 717 ft-lb of torque.
The Q8 50s will also come with a net-89 kWh battery pack that can charge up to 150 kW. However, the Q8 55s have a bigger net-106 kWh pack that can achieve 170kW charging rates.
Furthermore, the 55s can refill from 10 to 80 percent in over a half hour via an L3 DC fast charger. However, it will depend on wall box options for home charging. Ideally, you need to charge a Q8 5- on an 11 kW socket for approximately nine hours to fully charge it, while a Q8 55 will demand at least 11 hours to replenish its batteries fully.
More Efficient Motors
The new e-tron line comes equipped with more efficient motors with 14-coil power plants that can generate a stronger magnetic field. As a result, the vehicles under the e-tron banner can generate more torque when needed. The bit will also step that power back when it's not necessary, which will help extend the vehicle's range.
In addition, the exteriors are designed to minimize air resistance. The Q8 Sportback comes with a drag coefficient of 0.24, and the Q8 e-tron has 0.28.
More High-Tech Features
And that's not all. The Q8 has almost four dozen driver-assist features that were based on data from radar sensors, five optical cameras, and a lot of ultrasonic pickups. With all of these, the Q8 can park itself. It has a remote park assist and can autonomously guide the EV into the tightest parking spaces that can be controlled via the myAudi app.
The e-tron will also come with Audi's Matrix LED headlights that are ADB capable with three new features: Enhanced traffic information, lane light with a direction indicator, and orientation light on country roads.
The Audi Q8 e-tron is available for order in 2023. Are you excited about the latest iteration of Audit's luxury EV line? The Q8 is definitely something to look forward to.
