Why is Twitter Asking Laid-Off Workers to Return After Getting Fired?

According to a recent report by Engadget, the two sources say that the execs of the social media giant realized that some of the fired employees turned out to be essential in the plans of the new Chief Twit.

Given that, it looks like the firing of some employees was merely an accident after all.

Engadget notes in its report that Casey Newton of the Platformer broke the news regarding the plan of the social network to ask their employees to return. He even shared some messages from the internal Twitter Slack channels.

Newton reports that the Twitter Slack contains a message that says "sorry to @-everbody on the weekend but I wanted to pass along that we have the opportunity to ask folks that were left off if they will come back."

However, it is worth noting that Musk-owned social media has yet to confirm that it is actually reaching out to its fired employees.

A news story by Tech Crunch reports that upon the Twitter acquisition of Musk, the tech giant has laid off thousands of employees. It reportedly includes folks from the Human Rights Team and the Accessibility Experience.
