SpaceX Hiring: A New Mission Manager is Needed; Here's How to Apply

Here are the requirements and other details.

As of writing, the independent aerospace company is quite busy with its launches. SpaceX stated that it completed more than 180 launches, over 150 landings, and exactly 125 re-flights.

Among its latest missions are the Eutelsat Hotbird 13G and USSF-44 launches, which happened on Nov. 3 and Nov. 1, respectively.

Since SpaceX is quite busy with its spaceflights, it needs a mission manager to assist it with its upcoming space launch deals.

According to Startup Jobs, the mission manager that SpaceX is looking for will be responsible for contacting customers.

He/she needs to coordinate with commercial passengers from early capabilities studies through successful project activation.

Aside from these, the mission manager would also serve as the mission specialist. This means that they will perform all activities from pre-launch analysis to orbital operations.

SpaceX said it is specifically looking for ideal candidates with a passion for innovating solutions.

"Our ideal candidate has a passion for finding solutions, is a highly detail-oriented self-starter, and is hungry to do work that matters," said the aerospace firm.

Requirements, Other Details

If you are interested in applying as SpaceX's mission manager, then you need to have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of technical project management experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working hands-on with hardware or software technology projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or science with 5+ years of industry experience.

When it comes to preferred skills, SpaceX said that it would be better if interested applicants have more than five years of experience working with NASA, government, or commercial launch contracts.

SpaceX is currently preparing for its Ax-2 launch, which is expected to happen as early as 2023, as reported by Space.Com.

This means that the individual who will be chosen as SpaceX's mission manager will have a chance to work on the Axion Mission 2.

In other news, Amazon's VP said they are okay with SpaceX launching the Kuiper satellites.

The SpaceX Falcon Heavy is expected to carry the U.S. Space Force's USSF-44.
