Banned Twitter accounts should wait before they are allowed to go back to the social media platform, as suggested by Elon Musk.
This is a sudden change since Musk recently promised that former U.S. President Donald Trump's account will be allowed to return once he owns Twitter.
Now that he completely owns the giant social media platform, he wants to ensure that a clear process will take place before allowing suspended Twitter accounts to return.
Banned Twitter Accounts to Remain Suspended?
According to CNBC's latest report, Elon Musk said that Twitter accounts that were de-platformed would have to wait before they are re-activated.
He shared this plan after Twitter's Global Head of Safety and Integrity, Yoel Roth, posted a tweet to confirm their efforts to prevent conversation manipulations during the upcoming 2022 US midterm elections.
"We're staying vigilant against attempts to manipulate conversations about the 2022 US midterms," said Roth via his official Twitter post.
In the comment section, Elon Musk said that he had already talked to civil society leaders on how to combat hate and harassment during the elections.
He added that Twitter accounts that violated the platform's rules and regulations need to wait a few more weeks.
His tweet regarding the banned accounts has already generated more than 6,000 likes, 1,100 retweets, and 1,500 comments.

Aside from ensuring a clear process for suspended Twitter accounts, the billionaire also said the platform would have a moderation council with divergent views.
He explained that the platform's content moderation council would have civil rights groups and other representatives who experienced hate-fueled violence.
Elon said that these individuals would have widely divergent views. Of course, people's reactions are mixed, with some being positive while others criticize Musk's plans.
