Twitter's new Chief Twit, Elon Musk, is reportedly looking to roll out its edit button for free to all its users.
So if Twitter users would end up publishing their tweets with embarrassing typos, they could soon fix it once the long-requested feature releases for free.
Currently, the edit option for tweets is only available to the paying users of the social media giant who subscribes to Twitter Blue.
However, it seems that the leadership changes in the microblogging service are paving to a more widespread release of the edit button.
Elon Musk Wants to Make Twitter Edit Button Free
As per the latest report by Engadget, the new owner of Twitter is planning to enable all of its users to edit their tweets without having to pay a subscription fee.
The Twitter Blue subscription, which includes the edit function, retails for nearly $5 a month. Not to mention that it is only available in select parts of the world, making the edit option inaccessible to most parts of the globe. It has only reached places like the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
But this time, with the new direction of Twitter under the leadership of the billionaire entrepreneur, it appears that the edit functionality is coming to more users from various parts of the world.
Engadget says in its report that Casey Newton of the Platformer claims that Musk plans to make the most-requested feature on the social network for free.

Twitter's Most Requested Feature: the Edit Button
The Blue Bird started testing the much-awaited edit feature last September after years of clamor from its users.
In a blog post, Twitter disclosed that the "Edit Tweet" option is its "most requested feature."
It is worth mentioning that other giant social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, provide users with an edit button. And in these services, the option to edit posts is available for free to all of its users.
If ever Musk starts rolling out the Twitter edit button to all users, the social network seems to be heading toward the route that Facebook and Instagram took, at least in that sense.
However, do take this with a grain of salt as the new Chief Twit has yet to publicly confirm this move. Instead, he has announced that anyone could soon get their hands on the blue check verification. And to do so, it would cost users roughly $8 a month.
