The new T-Mobile Device Connection Charge fee will soon arrive.
People familiar with the telecom giant claim that this extra fee covers almost all the company's transactions.
Of course, some consumers will definitely be disappointed since T-Mobile is one of the U.S. carriers that avoid the Assisted Support Charge.
Now, T-Mobile is reportedly preparing to implement its DCC fee. Once it rolls out, the company will require its customers to pay for its new services.
New T-Mobile Device Connection Charge Fee to Arrive
According to Phone Arena's latest report, T-Mobile's upcoming DCC is a one-time fee of $35.
As of writing, consumers can avoid this charge by simply conducting their transactions online.
TMO.Report reported that the new DCC charge would affect those consumers for connecting new T-Mobile devices.
Aside from new devices, the fee also applies to upgrades and activations.
To make matters worst, customers who have orders with numerous devices will be charged for each gadget.
Once T-Mobile's new DCC fee is implemented, it will allow the broadband service provider to align its business with AT&T, Verizon, and other competitors.
Verizon and AT&T both charge their consumers at least $35 activation costs for the past years. If you are among the concerned consumers, there's still some good news.
DCC Fee's Exceptions
Of course, some T-Mobile consumers would like to know if there are exceptions to the upcoming Device Connection Charge fee.
To answer this question, there are some services that will not be affected by the new charge, such as the following:
- National retail orders
- New lines that were charged for DCC within the past 14 days
- Migration from Sprint to T-Mobile
- Prepaid activations and upgrades
- Changing a SIM or eSIM on an existing line
- DIGITS Talk & Text and PROXY by DIGITS activations
- T-Mobile for Business customers activation or upgrading through Direct & Indirect Sales or Care
