This is a bit surprising since the e-commerce space-based broadband system is considered a rival of Starlink.

In 2018, Amazon announced it was working on the so-called Project Kuiper. During that year, SpaceX's fired some of its senior employees.

The aerospace company reportedly did this since it is overly cautious regarding the Starlink project.

Those who were terminated decided to work for Amazon's Project Kuiper, which created some issues. Now, it seems like Amazon is open to coordinating with SpaceX to launch its Kuiper sats.

According to Teslarati's latest report, Amazon purchased three rockets to launch its Kuiper internet satellites.

However, those spacecraft experienced delays. Because of this, Amazon's Project Kuiper Vice President Dave Limp is now considering launching their internet satellites.

He shared the company's interest in working with SpaceX during an interview with The Washington Post.

"You'd be crazy not to, given their track record," said Limp when he was asked if Amazon was considering turning to SpaceX.

Limp said that they are specifically interested in SpaceX's Falcon Heavy, which could match the payload of Vulcan and Ariane 6.

What SpaceX Rocket Amazon Doesn't Like

Gizmodo reported that Amazon is not interested in SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket.

This is because the e-commerce's Kuiper internet satellites are larger than the regular items carried by SpaceX's Falcon 9.

Due to this reason, Dave clarified that they are specifically eyeing to use the Falcon Heavy rockets.

As of press time, Amazon and its suppliers are falling behind SpaceX's Starlink. The retailer recently announced that it plans to launch more than 3,200 satellites in low Earth orbit.

But, this goal still needs more time as the rockets that Amazon signed a deal with are delayed.

In other stories, SpaceX Starlink's 2.4GHz spectrum request was criticized by Globalstar.

Meanwhile, SpaceX announced its latest Starlink Flat High-Performance service.
