Elon Musk is officially Twitter's "Chief Twit." Meanwhile, the founder and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the giant service, Jack Dorsey, is moving forward with a new social media platform, Bluesky.
The Twitter founder opened the doors of Bluesky social to beta users.
So if you are looking to ditch the microblogging platform or other older players like Facebook and Instagram, this new one might be what you are looking for.
However, it is worth noting that the new social network in town is only available for private beta testing in the meantime. So unlike TikTok or BeReal, it is not open to everyone just yet.
Jack Dorsey's New Social Media Venture: Bluesky
It turns out that Dorsey is working on a new social media network while still leading Twitter.
According to a recent report by Futurism, BlueSky was already in the works in 2019. And back then, Twitter funded its development to help it kick start.
After a few years since its development began at the Twitter HQ, Bluesky now opens its public beta testing. It allows select users to get their hands on the new decentralized social media platform.
However, the new social network announced that its public beta is seeing the light of day anytime "soon."
Given that it has yet to open its doors to the public. Futurism notes in its report that its details remain scant as of writing. And as such, we have no idea about its features or its timeline of release.
What's clear for now is that it is rolling out its new "AT Protocol," which allows its users to control their algorithm.
Elon Musk is Twitter's New Big Boss
As per the latest report by Business Insider, the ultra-billionaire is now finalizing his acquisition of Twitter after a whirlwind of events that has reached the courts.
Its new owner made his massive purchase official by updating the bio or description of his official account, saying that he is now the "Chief Twit."
It should be noted that the private messages of Dorsey and Musk saw the shimmer of the spotlight during the legal battle between the tech entrepreneur and the social media platform.
The Twitter founder explained to Musk why he decided to leave the social network he built from the ground up. He disclosed that "a new platform is needed." Dorsey believes that "it can't be a company." Instead, it should have been an "open-sourced protocol," wherein it "can't have an advertising model.
