Even if you are already tech-savvy, there's a chance that you will mistakenly delete essential documents and other files.

Of course, many users will likely panic when this happens to them. But, Tenorshare 4DDiG, a Windows data recovery service provider, explained how this can be fixed easily.

"Contrary to popular belief, permanently deleted files are not swiped off completely from the hard drive," said Tenorshare 4DDiG via its official blog post.

However, the accidentally deleted files will only be there for some time. This means that you need to retrieve them as soon as possible.

If ever you really did delete essential documents, videos, or photos, you will likely go to the Recycle Bin.

Once you are there, you need to select the items you want to recover. To do this, right-click on them and select "Restore."

This is the most common method to restore accidentally deleted files. However, XDA Developers reported that using the Tenorshare 4DDiG is the best way to recover deleted items that were not recently saved.

This means that you will be installing third-party software. To do this, you can follow the steps provided below:

  1. First, visit Tenorshare 4DDiG's official website and open the software.
  2. After that, choose the Data Recovery option from the left sidebar.
  3. Then, click the local drive section. Once you are there, the software will automatically scan the selected local drive for deleted files.
  4. Once you see the item you want to recover, just click the Recover option.

Reasons for Accidentally Deleted Files

If you are not comfortable installing third-party recovery apps, such as the Tenorshare 4DDiG, then the best thing you can do is avoid deleting unsaved files.

There are various reasons why you may accidentally erase important items. These include the following:

  • Accidentally clicking the delete button.
  • Damaging the file.
  • Corrupting items by installing unsafe apps and other malicious files.
  • Formatting the drive right away after a file is deleted.
