HOUSTON, TEXAS - APRIL 19: In this photo illustration, the Netflix emblem is shown on a laptop on April 19, 2022 in Houston, Texas. The company Netflix is expected to report its first-quarter earnings after the close of trading later today. The report will be for the fiscal Quarter ending March 2022.

Netflix has expanded its visibility as it can already be seen not only on television, phones, tablets, and video game consoles. Now, the streaming platform is accessible through a chat-centered service.

Based on a report by Comic Book, Discord adds /heynetflix Bot for the ability of users to conduct watch parties with a certain community. Through this, users may also discuss through a thread that Discord will be providing that contains a spoiler-free description of a certain film or series.

As demonstrated in the video, users will also have to specify what region they are in before the voting starts so that Netflix will be presenting films or movies that will be available for both parties.

To add the bot to different servers, users will have to visit Discord's App Directory. This command was described in the report as help to users "discover new shows and movies to watch and discuss together." Netflix provided this solution since many people are struggling to decide on what they will watch on the platform.

Using the /heynetflix Bot

Three options for viewing were provided by The Nerd Stash for the Netflix Discord bot. Users can watch by themselves, with someone, or with a certain group or community within a server.

For this to be used, users have to summon the bot with the slash command (/heynetflix). Voting will start on whether the community wants to watch a film or series and will be followed by putting the regions of each user for Netflix to provide content that will be available to everyone.

Once the voting is done, four titles will be popping up on the users' screen to choose from, and an option to refine for an additional four titles will also be available. Lastly, a new private chat channel will be given by Discord for the discussion during the watch party.

While this is a good addition to some, Dexerto reported that the only catch to the Netflix bot is it does not stream the content on the Discord app. This new feature will link each user to the website which means that everyone in the watch party must have their own subscription.

Xbox also expanded its own ecosystem this year to Discord for Xbox Series X|S and One users. Alongside this, a PS5 integration is also on the way, as per The Verge. Through this, the Discord voice call will be soon available to PS5 soon.
