Apple's iPhone shipments in China drastically improved, based on the latest data released by Canalys, a global-leading tech market analyst.
"Apple saw remarkable growth in Mainland China in Q3," said Amber Liu, a Canalys analyst.
He added that iPhone 14's strong demands greatly contributed to the rise of Apple iOS smartphone shipments in the Asian market.
But, Canalys stated that the overall year-on-year smartphone shipments in China still declined by 11%.
Apple's China iPhone Shipments Grew Drastically!
According to Phone Arena's latest report, Apple ranked 4th when it comes to smartphone shipments between July and September.
Although this is the case, it is the only smartphone manufacturer that didn't experience shipment declines. For example, Vivo is the top company on the list.
However, its 14.1 million smartphone shipments in Q3 2022 are far from its 18.3 million record back in Q3 2021.
Because of this, Vivo experienced a 23% decline in its annual growth. Meanwhile, Apple is experiencing the other way around.
In Q3 2021, Apple could ship more than eight million iPhone units in China. But, these numbers increased drastically in Q3 2022.
Thanks to the efforts made by the giant iPhone maker, it was able to deliver more than 11 million iOS smartphones in the Asian market during 2022's 3rd quarter.
Other Smartphone Shipments Decline
Aside from Vivo, other Apple competitors also experienced drastic smartphone shipment declines. These include the following:
- HONOR (From 14.2 million to 12 million)
- Oppo (From 16.5 million to 12.1 million)
- Xiaomi (From 10.9 million to 9 million)
The records provided above are the comparisons of the companies' smartphone shipments in Q3 2021 and Q3 2022.
Although Apple performed well, these declines still led to an 11% decrease in overall smartphone shipments in China.
Canalys explained that Apple's aggressive promotions of its entry-level iPhone models, as well as older versions, allowed it to attract more consumers in the Asian country.
Meanwhile, Apple's clean energy charging feature has been launched.
Recently, the Apple MacBook Pro and Mac Mini with M2 are expected to arrive in November.
