Nothing Phone (1) Update Finally Rolls Out to Users
According to a recent report by XDA Developers, Noting Phone (1) users could now get their hands on the latest software update for their mobile devices.
The new release carries the firmware version 1.1.6. So if you want to get your hands on the latest update, make sure that it is the said firmware version. It is worth noting that the new update only takes roughly 62MB to download.
But despite its relatively small size, it brings a couple of noteworthy improvements that its users have long been waiting for.
Apart from the new features the version 1.1.6 update introduces, it comes with improvements in the existing functionalities of the Nothing Phone 1.
Nothing OS Update: Here's What's New
XDA Developer reports that the new Nothing OS update now offers better camera performance and an improved peak brightness of its display.
For the camera refinement, the latest update now offers sharper quality while taking videos. It also enhances the stability of its shooter.
Meanwhile, as per the latest report by GSM Arena, the Nothing Phone (1) debuted, promising up to 1,200 nits of brightness. But when it started shipping out to its users, it never actually reached that level at all.
The news outlet reports that Nothing says that while the phone itself could go up to 1,200 nits, its software intentionally limited it to only 700 nits. The phone maker explains that the cap prioritizes a "balanced user experience regarding heat and battery consumption."
But this time, the new Nothing OS vows to offer better display brightness. However, GSM Arena notes in its report that it remains to be seen if it now reaches roughly 1,200 nits.
Besides the camera and brightness improvements, the new software also offers Google AR Core and 5G connection support for folks based in Jio in India.
The new version also provides a smoother experience for the Launcher. And what's more, Nothing also touts that its battery status now offers a more accurate reading.
The fancy Glyph animation is now more "reactive" than ever as well. And to make it less awkward, the charging light has been "synced to sound effect."
