The free-to-play hero shooter "Overwatch 2" is said to have a strange bug that forcibly shuts down a player's computer without any heads up.
A number of "Overwatch 2" players have recently complained on Blizzard forums about their PC suddenly logging off in the middle of queuing. Players are perplexed about how this bug is causing their devices to shut down or restart simply by attempting to launch an Overwatch match.
A Bizarre Bug
To reassure many concerned fans and players, Blizzard addressed the new "Overwatch 2" bug right away in a series of tweets answering some public questions. The game developer confirmed that their teams are investigating the newly discovered bugs that caused computers to restart or shut down while playing the game.
Several accounts of PCs shutting down, restarting, freezing, or resulting in a Blue Screen of Death (BSod) are listed in a Blizzard forum post where the bug was reported nine days ago, according to PCMag
Despite these disappointing errors in the game, the developers of "Overwatch 2" never ceased to keep the public up to date with the most recent fixes and guides. Blizzard technical forum agent Jambrix responds to a query by requesting anyone experiencing the issue to post their DXDIAG for review, along with instructions on obtaining a copy.
Overwatch 2 has been plagued by numerous issues since its October 5 release as a free-to-play title for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
A Rough Launch
Last October 6, a community manager for "Overwatch 2" stated that a number of issues had come up with the initial release of the shooter game overhaul. Millions of "Overwatch 2" players have started to enjoy the game, but a sizable portion of "Overwatch 2" players still experience various errors when they first launch the game.

According to VGC, these problems include server issues that have been made worse by DDoS attacks and the removal of a contentious rule requiring all players to have a phone number associated with their Battle.net account to access the game.
In conclusion, the game fell short of what fans and the developers of "Overwatch 2" had hoped for.
Server Maintenance Upcoming
Based on an FGR report, Blizzard announced that new server maintenance would give players a more seamless gaming experience and fix existing issues. Today's scheduled server maintenance will be the third since the system's debut.
Beginning at 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET, Blizzard will shut down the "Overwatch 2" servers, which are expected to be offline for about 60 minutes. It is also possible that the downtime will last less or more time than anticipated. Although the announcement was made just two hours before the servers went down, an explanation for the outage has yet to be given.
