Xbox Keystone Appears on Phil Spencer’s Tweet—Is the Streaming Device Still Under Development?

Phil Spencer has it on display, but is it functional?

The Xbox Keystone is a codename for Microsoft's upcoming streaming device that will be a part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, optimized for the famed gaming service of the company. However, there were no official images showcased by Xbox or Microsoft despite its 2021 teaser, not until Phil Spencer's latest tweet which shows the device on his shelf.

Speculations claim that this is the Keystone, but it is not exactly functional or hooked to Spencer's TV or monitor, but rather a display on the executive's wall.

Xbox Keystone Appears on Phil Spencer's Wall Display

Phil Spencer is celebrating the 25th anniversary of "Fallout" with Bethesda and tweeted a picture of Vault Boy, along with the executive's wall of displays and achievements. However, internet sleuths and reports confirmed that a white, rectangular box on the top shelf with the Xbox logo is the upcoming Keystone device from Microsoft.

As first reported by The Verge, that device is none other than the Xbox Keystone and is indeed the teased streaming technology that Microsoft and Xbox are developing for its future release.

However, there are no confirmations if it is indeed the device, as well as no announcements as to when they will officially unveil it for the public.

Is the Company Still Developing the Xbox Keystone

The rumors about the Keystone started in 2021, and it was reinforced earlier this year as news about it being the next gaming console of the company surfaced. The Xbox Keystone is a different device, and the Series S and X are not yet seeing its successor, with the famed project still under development from its team to center on future streaming needs.

Xbox and its Streaming Services

Xbox is famous for its game streaming services with the many options to choose from with its latest offers for all. One is the Xbox Live Gold which delivers on titles, as well as the latest game development courses that will bring users a chance to enter a master class with the company, as well as industry giants.

On the other hand, the company also offers the Xbox Game Pass and its many tiers for the cloud gaming experience of the company, also offers the gamed Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with the Xbox Live Gold.

The company's previous teaser claimed that the new Keystone service will bring a new streaming experience that will optimize the Game Pass offers for all. The new device is not a successor to the Xbox Series S and X consoles, but a device of its own that will soon center on media streaming for all.

The good thing about the Xbox Keystone is that it will be a part of the Game Pass, and this means that it would only be a single subscription needed once it is available for all. However, fans would have to wait for this as there are no announcements about the device's availability and release date, safe to say that it is still under development.
