Several leaks revealed that Apple's upcoming 10th generation would feature a new design update after sticking to the same visuals since its release.
iPad 10th Generation
Apple's entry-level iPad is rumored to have its 10th generation this year. Some reports earlier this year that it would be announced at the same time as the launch of the iPhone 14 series, yet no new iPads have been announced during 'Far Out,' Apple's launching event last September.
A report from a Japanese tech publication Macotakara revealed that ESR, an accessory maker, has posted in the market the newest cases for the iPad 10th Gen. The listing was posted on Amazon Japan, and it features the iPad's newest visual design.
The cases that were released by the manufacturer reveal that the newest variant of the iPad will be similar to the iPad Air as it has cliff-steep edges and a narrow bezel display, which is the standard design of Apple (e.g., iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and even iPhone 12 to 14 series).
The home button will be removed, and a larger hole for the camera will be included. As of the moment, the link that was provided by Macomakara in its report is now inaccessible. Meaning that the original posting on Amazon Japan by ESR is already now deleted.
According to Forbe's report, the newest iPad's features and visual design are at par with the other models that Apple is currently offering. Some of these are much more expensive than the entry-level iPad (which costs $329 for 64GB) but maintain their good performance with good value.
Newest iPad Specs
The leaked case also has a big cut-out edge that might be the Apple Pencil 2nd generation's placement. This will bring an upgrade from the 9th Gen as it did not have this feature. Several reports also stated that the next iPad would be adopting USB-C from Lightning cable.
A report from Channel News also said that it would be having an upgraded chipset with A14 Bionic and 5G connectivity, which is what the iPad Air 4th Generation is offering together with the iPhone 12 to 14 series.
Compared to the previous generation, the iPad 10 will be offering a much bigger screen measuring 248.62 x 179.50 x 6.98mm.
Although the reports mentioned above claim that the newest iPad will be launched at Apple's October event, enthusiasts claim that this would unlikely happen. However, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg stated that the new products might be launched through media briefings, press releases, and updates from Apple Online Store.
Last year, Apple released several devices for the month of October. These include the M1 MacBook Pro, M1 Max MacBook Pro, and the third generation of Apple Airpods.
