The next entry-level iPad will reportedly launch this fall, most likely in September, along with the iPhone 14 series, according to information that surfaced at the end of June this year.
The only information we had at the time about the 2022 iPad was that Apple might finally switch over to a USB-C port.
But now we have a piece of exciting news about Apple's upcoming iPad! We also get a first glance at some leaked computer-aided design (CAD) renders of the iPad 2022 edition according to leaked information by MySmartPrice.
Unique CAD Renderings
In September of last year, Apple unveiled the 9th generation iPad. The tech giant is now working on the lineup for the next-generation iPad, which could debut as the iPad 2022 or the 10th generation iPad/iPad 10th Gen.
MySmartPrice has obtained unique CAD renderings of the upcoming Apple iPad from a case manufacturer ahead of the anticipated launch, which is rumored to take place in the upcoming months.
As seen in the CAD renderings, the front of the 10th generation iPad will resemble the front of the 9th generation iPad with the camera on top and Touch ID at the bottom of the display. The large bezels on all four sides are also visible.
We can also see the speaker coming out of the device's bottom and top, and MySmartPrice said that the iPad would have a quad-speaker arrangement.
The power button is also visible on top, and the volume rockers are visible to the side. The CAD images of the device have a red mark on them. Therefore, the location of the charging port is still unknown.
Bigger Screen
The upcoming iPad is anticipated to have a bigger screen than its predecessor and be wider but slimmer than the current model, measuring 248.62 x 179.50 x 6.98mm.
According to rumors, the Apple A14 chip, which is also included in the iPad Air 4th generation and the iPhone 12 series, will power the new iPad.
The iPad is also anticipated to include a USB Type-C port and run on the most recent version of the iPad OS out of the box. Apple may also offer a larger 10.5-inch or 10.9-inch Retina display.
