"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" is enforcing the same strict guidelines for new accounts to create once the game drops, and it will be like what "Overwatch 2" initially required from players before. It is the phone numbers for every account that will ensure verification and the identity of a person to play the game in the future.
Activision Blizzard's policy centers on avoiding any form of cheating or spamming, with a sure person to ban or suspend, but the company suspended this for "Overwatch 2" with existing Battle.net accounts.
'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' Also Require Phone Numbers
Battle.net's latest update details the need for a phone number for its future account creation on games, and it is also applicable for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." The requirement is similar to what Activision Blizzard asked gamers of "Overwatch 2,", particularly on its recent release which sparked a massive backlash against the company.
"Modern Warfare 2's" release is coming soon, and Activision Blizzard is preparing for its latest game in the "COD" franchise that will also deliver a new experience for all. The company wants it to be a smooth release and void of any spam or cheaters that will disrupt gamers from their experience of the remastered title.

'Overwatch 2's' Phone Number Requirements
"Overwatch 2" once had phone number requirements for all, but Activision said that active gamers from June 2021 may use their existing accounts on Battle.net to verify their identity. However, it is unknown if Activision Blizzard will also follow this same setup for the new game, particularly as there are no old versions of the game where their accounts were already made.
Activision Blizzard Wants to End Cheating
Activision Blizzard is no longer stepping back from gamers that use cheating software or systems on the company's games available to the public, also for its upcoming ones. This notice was first announced by the Overwatch team which also debuted the game's new Defense Matrix that will help against cheating and spamming.
Still, it may be the same as what "Call of Duty's" latest title will offer, particularly with the upcoming experience of "Modern Warfare 2" that will deliver a new multiplayer game mode.
There are several expectations of the famed game's rework, particularly as it aims to deliver a third-person setup for a different point of view, hailing from its first-person. "Modern Warfare 2's" modern availability aims to deliver the renowned title and its story to the latest generation platform and experience of both old and new gamers.
With so much at stake for its "MW2" release, Activision Blizzard is doing everything in its power to eradicate cheating and unsportsmanlike behavior for the future title. However, it is unknown if Activision's Battle.net will be available for gamers to use and avoid giving up or securing a phone number to create an account.
